Index, or in a footnote of another card. Bookbinder will delete these references automatically.
IMPORTANT: When using "Copy Card" and "Paste Card" from the HyperCard menu, make sure the background does not change before the card is pasted. If any change occurs to the background (such as the addition of a bookmark, the appearance of the "bent arrow" button, or the appearance of a footnote), then HyperCard will create a new background for the card to be pasted. This means the bookmarks will not work properly for the new card. Other difficulties may also arise. After pasting a card, Bookbinder automatically checks the id number of its background to see whether it matches that of the original "page" background. (Note the new background may have the name "page" yet have a different id number.) To avoid this problem, make sure there are no footnotes or bookmarks in either the copied card or the card you are pasting after. Also, don't change the status of the Update Page Nos button between copying and pasting the card.
